Be able to change the language of the screen reader. For instance I have the German language. I would like to change it to US English. It would be great if you can use the Config to do so.

There is a bug with Chrome OS:

We fixed it in our code which shall be released in the next days.
More background in case the problem persists from one of our users:
Added Chrome OS English Female HQ extension and the issue is fixed.
The problem is focused around commondatastorage.googleapis.com

Thank you again for your help. Just to let you know that as of August 8th, I still only get German spoken and not English. I use a chromebook version 44.0.2403.125 (64-bit). I deleted the app days ago and when I reload the app again (dated August 2) there was no change - still German and no English.

Thank you, but I still only get German spoken and not English. I use a chromebook version 44.0.2403.90 (64-bit). It may be the config file stored in the Google(tm) cloud with the "Save with Google(tm)" button in the config menu somehow has German rather than English.
